About Kyle
Dr. Kyle Bergquist DC co-created Serving Impact to help his fellow Chiropractors create the practice of their dreams. Kyle holds a B.S in Sports Medicine from Pepperdine University as well as a fellowship in Stem Cell Medicine from the American Academy of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine.
Kyle founded and serves as the executive director for the Healing our Heroes’ foundation, a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to helping veterans live their best life after service. Kyle served as the founder and CEO of the very successful Northwest Pain Relief Centers, integrated health care centers. At their pinnacle, they had 9 centers in 2 states.
Over the years Dr. Bergquist has started and run several successful clinics and knows first hand the real-life struggles that happen with each phase of growth and how to overcome them.
He has gone on to produce documentary films highlighting change-makers in the health and wellness space as well as veterans causes.
He is currently involved in the Race for Forever project to track bio-optimization data and show the efficacy to the masses.

About Jon
Jon Macaskill (muh-KAS-kill) is a Navy SEAL Commander turned mindfulness and meditation teacher. He’s a Naval Academy graduate and has his masters in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate School.
Jon has served in Iraq, Afghanistan, off the coast of Somalia, and in Panama. He now runs his own consulting company, Macaskill Consulting, LLC, bringing mindfulness and meditation to high performing teams to aid in dealing with stress, anxiety and depression all while increasing focus, creativity, and productivity. He also serves as the Deputy Executive Director for Veteran’s PATH, a nonprofit organization that works to introduce meditation and mindfulness to veterans to bring them a sense of Peace, Acceptance, Transformation and Honor.
Jon’s wife also served in the Navy and is now a civilian Orthopedic Physician Assistant in Virginia Beach. They are the proud parents of two small children and currently live as a family in Chesapeake, VA.

Being on the Veteran’s PATH podcast hosted by Jon Macaskill, Mindfulness Teacher, Deputy Executive Director was an honor. Jon, is a a Navy SEAL Commander and as humble as they come who has been through more than any of us can ever imagine, focused as ever, and taking time to listen, share, and give back to his fellow veterans.
On this podcast I got a chance to share the “whats next” after my Marine Corps service experience. I hope this whats next journey is helpful to many, and gives people hope that whatever they are facing, they can too become a master of their own condition.
Now I am a wife, mother, advocate, and business owner with my husband. Our business is aimed to impact the 21 million veterans and their families in our country, as well as companies in need of physical well-being programs that actually impact the individual employees for their life.

About Kate
Kate is a gritty entrepreneur with experience in the management and development of teams in startups and non-profit organizations. She is a published author of Graced By Grit: The Entrepreneurial Woman’s Guide To Starting A Business With Power, Passion & Purpose. Kate received her BA in Sociology and Psychology from UMass Amherst. As an entrepreneur, she owned her own company, Absolutely Organized, that organized small businesses and homes. She launched, coached, and grew a youth and masters swim program at a private health club in Plymouth, MA. Upon moving to Southern California in 2008, Kate was a youth and masters swim coach and an executive for The Boys and Girls Club in which she planned and ran events, coordinated fundraisers, ran the day to day office operations, and launched new revenue-driving community programs. In addition, she privately coached women and women’s running groups.
Kate and her business partner, Kimberly, were inspired to start GRACEDBYGRIT while training for a triathlon. They realized there was a lack of high-performance athletic apparel for 30-60-year-old women that made them feel safe, look great and protect them from the sun. They started GRACEDBYGRIT in 2013 and sold the company to HYLETE in 2018. Kate was hired as the VP of Brand Experience for HYLETE. She brings a female voice and narrative to the HYLETE brand focusing on expanding the women’s product offering at HYLETE and elevating the emotive, relatability and relevance to the brand voice. Kate takes the first female seat at the executive table at HYLETE.

Heidi Armstrong is here to talk to us about how she helps athletes overcome the mental fallout of a serious injury. Heidi found her way to the adaptive community after she suffered a competitive mountain biking injury. After the injury and many surgeries, she found herself angry, insufferable at times, and miserable with her new life.
Luckily Heidi found herself surrounded by people who were willing to step in when she needed it most and urge her to get help. But when she decided to get help, she didn’t even know where to start. Heidi built herself a care-team that helped her find creative outlets as a way to manage her pain and anger.
Heidi’s revolutionary turn-around to alternative therapy led to one of her therapists referring a fellow injured athlete to her for help, which then turned into several athletes. She then suffered another, severely debilitating injury and found herself talking to others who had also experienced these injuries. When she found she’d have to quit her job post-injury, she decided to explore other opportunities working with injured athletes.
